My name is Brandon, and I hold a standard certification in Elementary Education in NJ. I am interested in teaching Science either in upper elementary grades (5th-8th), or possibly Earth Science in High School. I am trying to find out where I can get information about Alternate route programs (i.e. requirements, rules, praxis tests, etc..).If anyone could help me answer some of these questions I would greatly appreciate it.

Hola, hola, hola! It´s been a dream of mine to move to Alaska. Why when Minnesota is just as cold? Anyway, I am a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Guatemala. I have a B.A in Spanish Education, and experience with Concordia Language Villages, medical translation, teaching ESL, tourism, etc. I will finish my service this summer. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to whom I would contact for further information on job possibilities. ¡Mil gracias!
I'm interested in teaching in AK next year - I'm just finishing my Master's this spring. I know that most jobs are in the bush. However, before I take the plunge I'd like to chat with someone already teaching in AK. I've done some searching online, but most seems to be overly positive?
If you can help by answering some questions about teaching in the far reaches of the state, please drop me a line at [email removed]
We are an Australian education services group that caters for both the professional development needs of classroom teachers and educational administrators.
In late July 2004, in Melbourne, Australia, we are conducting a conference for EDUCATIONAL LEADERS and classroom teachers aspiring to be educational leaders in the future, employing the services of both local and international presenters in the field of educational leadership. The theme/title of the conference will be THE EMOTIONS OF EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
Wishing to give this conference a truly international flavour, we would like to encourage overseas delegates to attend (or present).
As this coincides with your vacation period and given that overseas travel for study/employment purposes would (presumably) offer tax concessions is there a possibility that you or any of your colleagues may be interested in attending such a conference.
Before embarking upon any serious advertising of this conference beyond our local area, we are simply seeking an indication as to the degree of interest for such a conference amongst teachers beyond our shores.
Can we please ask that you spare a few minutes to email us ([email removed].
Meanwhile, could you please alert others about this conference by forwarding this message to them or showing them a copy of it.
Thank you kindly for your attention to this matter,
