I am currently graduating from college with a degree in
special education, elementary education, and ESOL
certification. I want to move to Alaska to become a bush
teacher, but don't know where the "bush" is. Also (not
trying to imply that I am doing it for the money) but are
there districts that pay more than others? Finally, is it
difficult to get a job in Alaska? I am a rugged
outdoorsman, and looking to teach in a diverse setting,
that is challenging as well as fun. If you could provide
any information, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks for
your time.

than non-bush in the state. Probably the top-paying district
in the state ...See More

The bush. It can be wilderness. It is some of the most remote
villages you will ever experience. I have taught there and lived
there and though rewarding in some ways, VERY challenging in most
