I have being research on Alaska and am giving serious
thought to relocating if I could find a decent teaching
job there. Of everything that I have read, the one thing
that concerns me the most is the prolonged darkness. I
would be relocating alone so moving out to the bush is not
a viable option...so Anchorage would likely be my best
bet. Are there any areas with some population and some
sunlight....Juneau??? Thanks..

openngs. The darkness in Anchorage is not that severe...
generally about 5 - 6 hours durng the day at the worst time.
