I'm beginning the research process of moving from the Houston, TX area to Alaska. I’m originally from the Chicago area, so the climate won’t be too big of an issue. That’s actually one of the reason I want to move. Here in south Texas, we have two seasons: hot and spring. I visited Anchorage and Fairbanks last summer and really enjoyed the area. What are some things I should know about the area? What’s districts or area should I look in? I teach high school math, and would be looking to teach Algebra 2 or higher. I’m looking for a suburban area that is within about an hour at most from downtown. Of course pay and cost of living are important. Thanks for information provided!
