I'm currently getting my associates in elementary education and I'd love to know how much elementary teachers in the sparta,tn area make. I'm also planning to get my bacelors degree once i finish my associates.

While I am not a teacher I am employed in the field of special education as a social worker. I am considering going for my certification.

I will attempt to respond to the previous posters question....See More

I'am about to start my senior year and ever since I got in high school I have gotten paddled every year. 3 times in 9th, 1 time in 10th and 2 times in 11th. I am a cheerleader and a good student. A teacher I am not sure about the paddling, but you should use better grammar and punctuation when you type paragraphs or you will not find a well paying job, even if you are a cheerleader!

These are two wonderful AFSers who still needs loving host families for the fall. They would be great matches for families who golf, have small children and/or would love a student who plays the guitar. David is a full Congress- Bundestag scholaship student. They are all academically talented and speak very good English as well as are medically ful...See More
If you guys have to get CEUs over the summer or at other times during the school year, let me recommend the elearning program out of Troy that is open to AL teachers. You can register for online classes through the state dept. links section by going to STIPD. I have taken three of the courses and they are free. Check it out. My system even lets us ...See More
1st grade teacher Keep in mind, however, that Alabama is dropping PEPE in favor of EducateAlabama. Credit may no longer be given for workshops. I "think" that there will not be the CEUs anymore but PLU (Professional Learning Unit) that have to be some sort of ongoing learning. Don't quote me on that, though. :0)

julia These benefit me because we allowed to use 12 hours as swap days. Even is CEUs are changed, these classes provide a lot of knowledge on new technology trends and give me some insight when dealing with the "digital natives" we all teach.

What is the most affordable teacher liability insurance in AL? My school system quoted AEA dues as $260 a year which is more than double what I paid in Louisiana for $2 million in coverage. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
