Be a Group Leader in 2012 to Panama, China or Turkey
AFS-USA offers short community service programs for students in grades 8-12. The design of this 10-14 day program is that students have a cultural arrival orientation and overnight in the primary city, after which they travel to their local community for a project and homestay.
Students have cultural enrichment activities in the afternoon and evenings. The trip ends with a short sightseeing experience just prior to returning home.
This program is designed for educators and youth leaders to recruit and chaperon groups of 8-15 students who will be placed in the same community working in the morning on projects such as improving conditions in local primary schools and refurbishing homes for families with special needs.

Hi, I am currently taking a class on co-teaching and collaboration. For this class, I need to conduct a quick survey (9 questions) on co-teaching and would appreciate your help. It's completely anonymous. Thanks!!! [link removed]
If you have an iPad and long for your child/ren to get a jumpstart on improved science education (earth, physical, & life science)and higher test scores including standardized test scores, visit the following link and download the apps. Soon, they'll be available for the iPhone and iPod if not already. Your child/ren will have their own private teacher whenever they want. They are used all over the world. These apps can be an investment in YOUR child/ren's education and in restoring America to her #1 status in the world.

If schools have student iPads or iPods, they should purchase these apps. Teachers should purchase them as another source to assist with science curriculum and to improve standardized test scores.
I see that the school system is still looking to fill 23 positions. Are they a system that pink slips the teachers at the end of the year and rehires over the summer? Thanks in advance.

I'm Sped HQ (Georgia certification), experienced middle school, and WOULD PREFER a position in an elementary school setting, non-urban. Also, am certified in Early Childhood.
How good/bad is it in AL? Any suggestions, experiences to share? Thanks.
Make this year a memorable one by hosting and AFS student from Turkey who wishes to be a lawyer. She is one of our YES scholarship students who happens to be very athletic as well as a scholar. The AFS team had placed her with a family in the area, but they have backed out. For details go to [link removed].
