Secondary math. Does that mean just high school, or does it include middle school as well?

Anybody work in BCPS? I am in VA, still in my teacher education program at my college, but I really would like to come back to my hometown and teach there.

Well my Aunt is working in the BCPS system now, and her class was well behaved, it really depends on how the teacher responds to the kids for the teaching to be effective.Severe behavioral problems are in any big city. I TA in a inner-city school right now, so I know what to expect, and plus that's where I want to be-in the inner-city. But I am surpised the enrollment in the schools has dropped that low. I won't be graduating until another year/semester, so hopefully things will look better then.

If you're interested in getting ideas for teaching comprehension and fluency strategies in Grades 1-3, I will be presenting a full day seminar in Birmingham in May. Check out [link removed].

Does anyone know if retired Georgia teachers transfer to Alabama to teach after retiring in Georgia? I know Georgia retirees can not teach in Georgia and receive their full retirement income if they return to the classroom in Georgia (if they retired after 2003).
I am taking the APTT June 16th. It has been a while since I have had a math class (am now going back for my masters so I can teach Science). Any suggestions on what to study or how to prepare?

I teach in a school that is insisting that the Read Well program is our miracle!!! I have very strong negative feeling about this program. Does anyone out there have those feeling??? I need some support.
I have been teaching read well 1 for the past 5 years. Major flaws: Comprehension is not taught. Sound are introduced too slowly. Every group must be seen everyday. They call themselves balanced literacy - no where near! It procuces good word reader and that is it.
