i am wanting to be a substitute teacher in bham, al. i dont understand the process. where do i go? what do i do?
Maestra08 You will need to contact the corresponding Boards of Education for the schools at which you want to sub. For example, if you want to sub at Hoover High (or any Hoover school), you will need to contact the Hoover Board of Education. Each Board will have a similar, though different, process. Good luck!

Cyna To be a sub in ANY public school in Alabama, you have to have a criminal background check. The local police department will do your fingerprinting. There seems to be quite a backlog, too, so I wouldn't waste any time getting this done. Once you have a clear background check, you can apply at any of the local school boards.
