I was wondering if anyone could please tell me if I can teach 5th and 6th graders, in Middle School, with an Elementary Education certification? My degree will be a BS in Elementary Education through U of Phoenix and I will be certified to teach K-8 in Arizona but I live in Alabama and will become a certified K-6 educator. Also, will I be able to take the Middle Education (4-8) generalist - content knowledge certification test without taking any other college courses right now? I plan on moving right into a master's program but I would like to work, in the meantime. I have looked all through the ALSDE website but I cannot seem to find what I'm looking for - just a simple answer to my questions.
