My certification upon graduation was a BA in ELem Ed 1-6 and an Endorsement in Middle School Social Studies 5-8. Can I test out of Social Studies 7-12 and have this added to my license? I am getting two answers from the state department, but when I read the Rules Governing Licensure, it leads me to believe that I can test out of SS 7-12. Curious if...See More
Spanking erodes developmental growth in children and decreases a child's IQ, a recent Canadian study (link is external) shows.

This analysis, conducted at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, offers new evidence that corporal punishment causes cognitive impairment and long- term developmental difficulties.

not too bad actually Wow, you cut and pasted an article. Good job!

We now have a generation of undisciplined, self-important cry babies with no work ethic or respect for rules/law. It is only getting worse. This is what liberal child rearing based on biased, foreign studies gets you.

My husband and I will be moving to Arkansas this summer. We are looking at the Rogers, Bentonville and Fayetteville areas. I have taught in Florida for 11 years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Formeradmin1 NW Arkansas is a great place. A little hard to get a teaching job unless you are teaching a high demand subject like SP ED. Fayetteville, Springdale, Bentonville, and Rogers pay pretty well considering the rest of the state. Be patient and fill out all the on-line applications. Would not hurt, if you know there is an opening you want, to try to mee...See More

Display board for sale. I am a retired science teacher that bought display boards for my students, but we never had time to have a science fair. I bought at a discount through a friend at a store. I would like to get my money back and get out of my way. They are the standard boards that sell at stores like walmart for $4 and staples for about $6. I...See More

Is it legal to have morning or afternoon duty, morning tutoring? Yes, we get our planning time, but the law reads Act 1398 of 2003 defines non-instructional duties as "the supervision of students before or after the instructional day begins or ends for students or for the supervision of students during breakfasts, lunches, recesses, or scheduled br...See More
TN You can have 60 minutes of duty time per week. If the tutoring is during student contact time that is not considered a duty. If you need clarification contact your union rep.
