Please mark Saturday, January 24th on your calendar and plan to attend this event!
The Arkansas Education Association is hosting a rally on the steps of the State Capital in Little Rock to show the legislature our dissatisfaction of the percent of health insurance premiums paid by the state. The rally will begin at 10 am and last an hour or two. It is extremely important that we have thousands of teachers and educational support staff there to bring attention to this critical issue. Individual buildings should plan to meet and carpool to Little Rock. THE MEDIA WILL BE THERE SO PLEASE BRING ANYONE YOU CAN AS NUMBERS ARE CRITICAL IF WE ARE TO MAKE AN IMPACT!

Does any...See MoreI don't know a thing about Arkansas property values. However, I have been looking and looking at listings in the Hot Springs area and I found this house (in the link). Comparatively, it seems like a good deal. Of course, I have no idea if the neighborhood is way out in the middle of nowhere since I have never been to Hot Springs.
Does anyone know about Hot Springs or Arkansas property values in general to give an opinion?
Oh...I am considering relocating, but I am not sure. That is why I am "doing my homework".
RhondaOn 1/06/09, is paddling. Maybe I should reconsider moving to your state. wrote: > On 1/06/09, completely NER wrote: >> I don't know a thing about Arkansas property values. >> However, I have been looking and looking at listings in >> the Hot Springs area and I found this house (in the link). >> Comparatively, it seems lik...See MoreOn 1/06/09, is paddling. The homes and Condos in Hot Springs are generally also nicer than what you would find in many areas. New development is available as well as property to purchase for building a home. The Lake Hamilton School Distict is preferable to the Hot Springs district if that is a consideration.
..I start teaching Arkansas History to my 8th graders this semester. There are many good lessons ideas out there but I wonder....is there any tried and true methods/ideas that you have used to get the class on board with you? I would love to hear them here! Jack/AR
I am looking for any photographs that have anything to do with the city ov Lavaca or Mansfield in Sebastian County Arkansas! I especially need a photo of the train depot in Lavaca. If you have any connection to this county or area, please check your family photos and see if you could share some of the photos! Thanks! Jack/AR
I want to set up a writing folder/portfolio for 2-3 graders. Any ideas or tips as to what I can put in it? I have seen examples of some that use dividers and put different themes into them. I am open for any suggestions or tips on how to set one up. Thanks

Well, I didn't really study at all for the content exams (although I was really glad for my modern art history class, so that might be something you want to study), so I don't know of any flash cards. You could probably make some good ones yourself. I suggest looking back at what you studied in art history to start - the movements and the major artists therein.
I just took the PLT, which was pretty tough. I'd suggest googling a study guide if you don't have one already. There are some really great powerpoints and study aids for free online. The test dealt a lot with the behavioral and developmental psych stuff we had to learn. Study theorists, like Gardener or Piaget, for example.
And not only know the theories, know how they relate to the classroom (like, how does Teacher A know how a certain age group learns? because they develop in such and such a way). This is pretty big on the case studies.
