Checking thru my new Webster's Third Edition Dictionary, I came upon a new entry for the noun "misery" detailing the added connotative meaning of the word:
I am teaching an inservice on Feb. 5. I need to share internet sites that might support our Arkansas frameworks in all areas grades K-12. These sites could have games, puzzles, lesson plans, or just information. Thanks for your help. [email removed]
We have been have an increasing problem with students late to multiple classes, especially first period, and not taking the bells seriously (wandering in the door after the bell stops, etc.)
We have decided to enforce the official on-time requirement/policy more rigorously and are interested in hearing from anyone that has had good results. This is grades 9-12. Thanks.
I am interested in finding out if you have any success stories in your teaching Arkansas History in your classrooms this year? I teach it in the 8th grade but would love to have a discussion about what you are doing in any classroom! Jack/AR
Is there a shortage of math teachers in Arkansas? Do the schools encourage creativity in the teachers or is it very regimented?
My problem is that I really like math but have my own way of learning and would want to share my method with the kids. I basically want students to see math in their head rather than just do the mechanical methods of solving equations. Is this non-standard technique allowed
What are the principals like in Arkansas? I'd like to find one that is easy going and interested in the students and the teachers succeeding together, respecting our individuality. It seemed like in my California high school I got sent to the office more than the kids because I wasn't that hung up on discipline. The principal felt everyone needed to bow down to him. If he saw one of my students out of class, I'd catch heck for it.
