In addition to my regular teaching job, I would like to earn some extra money by online tutoring or teaching in English/language arts. Do any of you know if there are any jobs like this available?

Basically there are two ways... One, you can go get a one year M.A.T. degree (Master of Arts in Teaching) or an M.Ed. and also get paid at a master degree level salary when you are done. Or, two, go the Non-Traditional licensing route in which you start teaching and take classes to learn HOW to teach all at the same time (summers and Saturdays). If you are going to teach a subject considered a 'shortage area' (critical need), like math or science (see the list on the website), then you are more likely to find a position and a school willing to accept you as a 'Non-traditional hire'. Those critical job openings are also most likely to be in the Delta counties...
Last year someone told me of several good websites, where lots of teaching jobs in Arkansas were listed. But I can't seem to locate them. Can anyone give me some good sources to see art teaching vacancies in Arkansas.
You also might find other positions via the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators website.
Buena suerte

The best place to check on Arkansas jobs is the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and individual district websites. You can get to the individual district websites through Arkansased.org and click on schools. Look down the page for District websites...many of them have job openings posted. Good luck!

Please take time to complete this survey. It is for a thesis statement. I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions. After all, if it does not currently concern you, it will eventually. Results will be posted at the end of July, 2009.
Please email me. I have some questions! Thank you!
