My husband and I are looking for a better place to live...not so urban, more trees/lakes, home with land (couple acres), lower cost of living, etc. It would be nice to be near a university (I'm getting my doctorate and want to teach at the college level eventually). I will have my principal's license soon and would like to be a Principal or AP in 2 years. We are currently in the Phoenix area, but we're originally from MN and looking for a similar area to live, but just not as cold!! Any recommendations of towns in Arkansas to begin looking at?
Siloam Springs. 35 minutes from Fayetteville. Small town yet beautiful. Cost of living is lower . Schools are great and we also have a university in town. John Brown!

Fayetteville, Arkansas (Home of the University of Arkansas) and surrounding towns, Prairie Grove, Farmington, etc. are in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. NW Arkansas is the home of Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt and several national trucking companies. Listed as the #1 place to live in America.
Hi Linda, ASU gives several of these around the state. Also, if you go to thier web site it will have a section on training opportunities and many are given in FT Smith. Good luck.
My third grade class has mailed letters to all 50 states in the hopes of hearing back from each state. I have not received a reply from Arkansas. Help!! I live in New Mexico now but was born in Arkansas, spent my childhood there, and have generations of family heritage there. Of every state we have written I want a reply from Arkansas the most. Are there any third grade teachers willing to write a quick note about your class, school, and town. Thanks!! Cathy Bell Zuni Elementary 6300 Claremont NE Albuquerque, NM 87110

Are there any upcoming teacher recruitment fairs coming up with in the next two months for the Fayetteville, Rogers, Springdale, or Bentonville area? I'll be moving back to that area soon, and I wanted to check out some of the jobs that are available for teachers. Thanks
I don't think there is a specific recruitment fair for NW Arkansas. There's a state-wide one in Little Rock in June, maybe?
The big four districts do A LOT of hiring from the MAT graduates that intern in their district. Unless you have a shortage qualification, and here that's really only severely handicapped special ed, you might have to go into the sub pool to get yourself known in the district before you get a full-time position. Just a warning.

How is everyone finding the time to find lessons for all the frameworks. I have 5 disciplines I am having to work with. It is so time consuming. Any ideas at all will help.
