State Employees Retirement System (SERS) Tier III, the Alternate Retirement Program (ARP), the SERS Hybrid Plan or, if eligible, the Teachers Retirement System (TRS)

I think you are eligible ONLY for the Teachers Retirement System if you are a public schoolteacher in CT
Try going online, looking at the the list of topics that the foundations of reading test covers. Also try to study the answers to the test that are provided on the website. They also have different books on amazon that can help you prepare for the test. I am struggling through the motels right now myself. Hang in there.

That's more than 20 percent of a school year. And many districts use that limit as a basis for denying certified (in the area) subs at least Step 1 pay until 40 days are up.
Would you want your kid to be taught Pre-calc for 39 days straight by a gym teacher? - or worse: a teacher with no certificate? Seriously?

Thomaston took a while to find a Physics teacher. Too bad these schools have a less than stellar reputation, due to demographics and budgets. I've met a few administrators and thought highly of them.
Lately, schools with a great reputation have been difficult to work in, as a result of inner city kids being bused to them.
This is a result of a court ruling (Sheff vs. O'Neil). The courts ruled that kids from Hartford, etc. should be able to attend suburban schools.
So if you spend your time researching great schools like Staples in Westport, Avon H.S. and the like, to avoid the Hartford kids, don't worry. The Hartford kids will find you. Nine times out of ten, these kids will not appreciate the opportunity they have, and will cause disruptions, dragging down the progress of kids whose parents pay taxes for those kids. Don't get me wrong though. There ARE a few kids from the cities who WILL use the opportunity wisely.
