Relocating to Connecticut

I have been teaching for three years in Michigan. My wife and I are relocating to Connecticut and I was wondering what the teaching job market was like there. I have a secondary social studies and secondary English certs. Thank you for your time.

flutetoot Good luck! There are very few openings in English and even fewer in SS. I just came from an interview for a LTS position in English and was told that they had around 50 applicants, so I was lucky to be chosen (I didn't get the job)

You might have better luck if you try Bridgeport, New Britain, New Haven, or Hartford. Where are you looking?...See More

CT TEACHER I teach in New Britain (an urban District), and we typically hire 50+ new teachers each year but this year there were only a handful. Those new hires were primarily bilingual and special ed. It seems as though the H.S. and M.S. positions are more common. Check out [link removed].

RETHINK... Why are you relocating to CT? Don't get me wrong...it is a wonderful little state with a lot to offer but the teaching market is OVERSATURATED and the economy is struggling.
