Hello Noor, I think you meant to say: "Hello, I'm a 28 year old jackass who doesn't have a clue and can't get a date. I really should take my date-searches to a different website, but I like to waste people's time with garbage they don't care to read. I sit up at night and download porn on the internet, which is why I'm looking for a cybergirl now... as for my appearance you can check me out at [link removed]."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but last I checked this was a site dedicated to professional teacher correspondence. Help me out here Noor, please! Mel

Jahkema Princess Hansen was shot in the head, torso and leg in a neighbor's townhouse off North Capitol Street NW. Authorities said she appeared to have been shot execution-style by a gunman who burst in and sprayed a room where Princess, as she was known, and at least one other girl were watching television. She was fourteen years old! The terrorists in DC are not Arabs they are americans. This was a terrorist act and Bush is sleeping....hey she was a black girl anyway we have plenty of those......who cares, Bush might have said

My apartment is in NW DC in the Shaw neighborhood, so finding housing is not an issue. How are the ES in my immediate neighborhood? Any especially good schools to try to interview at? Is DC as desperate for teachers as PG is (LOL), or should I expect a struggle to find something? What are the standardized tests given to elem. students, and is there a lot of pressure from the school system in regards to them?
I want to continue teaching third grade. A challenging population is okay with me as long as the principal and staff are strong. I have five years of experience, a master's degree, and excellent recomendations.
Thanks for any advice or experiences you can share!

I used to work for Baltimore City and I left in December. i now teach for Fairfax County Public Schools. My principal and administrative staff in Baltimore city were horrible. They were unprofessional an did everything in their power to demoralize and disrespect teachers. Everyone at this school in Baltimore city, most of them, myself including began taking depression medication just to make it through the day. Teachers call out sick on an almost daily basis. Next year, half the school will be gone and the principal doesn't even seem to care. She has run off several teachers to other school or districts and doesn't seem a bit fazed about it. The sad part iss that it is the children who will continue to suffer because of instability in the home and now in the schools as well. I would be very interested in finding out what type of experiences you had in PG County. Try Fairfax County. > >
I was told by the fellows program that because I am white, they do not want me (in not those exact words). Unreal! I am a lawyer in washington D.C. and thought this would be a truly rewarding chance to give back to a community I love. I am outraged that this is where our country has come. Color blind my ass...

Year 1: Semester 1 - you must work as a short term or long term sub; Your choice. Semester 2 - you must student teach or if you have significant substitute exprience you can work as a long term sub. Long term subs get paid at the long term sub rate (see the MCPS web site -- I can't recall the daily rate off the top of my head).
Year 2: You work as an "intern" and are paid at the long term sub rate. This means you are given your own classroom, and are a teacher in most respects like contract teachers, however, you are supervised regulary by the university and MCPS but are paid at a lower rate than a regular contract teacher.
When you finish the program you are obligated to accept a contract if offered for three years, or you have to pay back the county for your two years at Hopkins.
In addition, if you cannot live on what you make -- particulary if you student teach during Year 1, Semester 2, because then you are not making anything, you qualify for student loans.

I'm searching for any teacher who might be teaching or has taught at the Ben Murch Elementary School in DC who would be able to tell me who to contact within the school or the district for information about students who attended Ben Murch school between the years 1936 and 1946. I'd also like to have a list of the teachers who were teaching there at that time. Thanks in advance.
I, too, am interested in how to get information about a student who attended Ben Murch Elementary School sometime between 1936 and 1946. Who should I contact?
If any of you taught there during that time, I'd be interested in talking to you.
