Sorry for the repeat - I'm sure this questions comes up frequently...is there a need for elementary ed teachers in the DC area? What districts/areas could I check in besides the DC district (which doesn't look like it has a great rep according to this board)? Thanks!

As part of a graduate research project, I need to gather data from current teachers. I’m researching the use of technology in the classroom and what factors affect it. If you could just take a few minutes to complete my survey, I’d appreciate it. The survey is online and has 15 questions.
I am leaving my position as special ed teacher for a lovely group of kids ages 8-14. These are level 5 kids who take the alternative assessment. Currently, I supervise 4 support staff, and have 11 children. It's a perfect situation for a special education coordinator that wishes to return to the classroom. The kids are wonderful.
St. John's Community Services is an excellent organization and they are expanding their school program, which is considered as a non-public school under DCPS as their SEA. Their benefits are amazing (they pay 2 dollars to every 1 dollar you put into a 401K!!) and since they are a salaried position, you don't have to worry about year end contracts. The salary is phenomenal and beyond what DCPS pays on their scale.
If you are interested and are licensed to teach children with disabilities, please send your resume and cover letter to Ashanthi Kiridena at [email removed].
Is the Arlington school district known for being competitive as far as obtaining a teaching position? I am certified in Special Education and have received two rejection letters. I have two years of experience and a Master's degree. How about Fairfax Co.? I'm waiting for them to release the vacancy list on July 1. Thanks for any advice.
I will be visiting Washington, D.C. and hope to see and do some things that I can take back with me to my American history and geography classes. Any recommendations?
