He is not working this summer due to shoulder surgery, and he is bored to death! If you are still looking, please contact me. Bill is a great guy and a great teacher. I've worked with him!!

We still need a representative from your state. Please email me if you would like to participate in sending and receiving approximately 50 postcards from around the United States and a few other countries. We will be sending out the cards starting in September and finishing up before Thanksgiving. Take a look at the website I created to display last years cards for ideas of what to write on the back. It is a great opportunity to see the world without leaving your classroom. I look forward to hearing from you.
The following states are still needed to complete our Postcard Exchange: AL, AK, CO, CT, DE, DC, IA, KS, KY, ME, MD, MN, MT, NV, NH, ND, OR, RI, SC, SD, WV, WY
If you are interested, please e-mail me your school address. We would love to have you. To find out more about the Postcard Exchange, read on.
I teach 5th grade and find that a postcard exchange ties in well as a geography review, as well as writing--the format of a postcard.
If you choose to join, your job will be to send each participant a postcard. Usually I have my class create one postcard and then photocopy and glue it on individual postcards. In the letter we include information about our state and our school.
Then when we receive the various cards from other states we display them on a bulletin board. I put a U.S. map on the wall and everytime I receive a card we put a pin in that city/state and attach the postcard.
My students love receiving the postcards. They have an opportunity to learn little things about states and schools.
At the end of the summer I will be e-mailing all of the participants a list of addresses that will be involved in the exchange. Usually we have about 30 states, I would love to get all 50 states, but I haven't had that happen yet. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you are interested so I can add your state to our list.

Join the fun! We need ONE CLASS from Delaware to help complete our postcard group. If interested, you will need to obtain about 50 picture postcards and stamps. Include a message about your state (state symbols, interesting facts, famous places, people, etc.) We will mail our postcards in October. I will supply preprinted address labels. If you are interested in joining our group, please email me or go to my website and sign up there.
It's so much fun to see the excitement in your class when the mail comes and the postcards begin to arrive. US Geography has never been so much fun!
The U.S Census Bureau is searching for teachers who meet the criteria below to participate in the Teacher Follow Up Survey (TFS) -- a nationally representative sample survey that looks at teacher movement within the labor force. The respondents we visit will need access to a computer with internet (dial-up or high-speed). They will be paid approximately $50.00 for about an hour of their time.
The survey identifies three categories of movement: Stayers (teachers who continue to teach at the same school); Movers (teachers who are still teaching but at another school); and Leavers (teachers who have left the profession either to retire or to enter another profession).
Please forward your Telephone Number and Address plus Teaching Status and School Type if interested. I will contact you to schedule a date and time for the interviewers to visit you. The interviews will be conducted from July 22 - August 12, 2004.
Census conducts the Teacher follow up survey (TFS) for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
Hello...I am a "mover". I have worked at several schools, both public and private. This year I will be teaching 6, 7, 8 grade English at a private school.
Please contact me if you are interested.
