I am looking into moving to Delware and was wondering which school districts are the best to try to get into? and if anyone knows which ones are hiring? thanks
I am going to a job fair in March and The Capital School District will be there and so will the Milford School District can you tell me if these are good school districts thanks!
I did my student teaching in the Milford School District. Very good schools in a small city. They are huge on Rennaissance Learning programs. Capital School District is a lot bigger, with more elementary schools then Milford. I know in the elementary schools it is like night and day with the population in the schools. Some are high in poverty levels and others are lower. Both districts have only one high school. I have NOT heard too many good things about Dover High school in the capital school district, but that might be changing because they are getting a new principal. Both districts have websites that have good information.
If it is possible, maybe come do a site visit and talk to the staff, before they know that you are interviewing.
I am a chemistry teacher in New York interested in moving to the delaware shore. I was wondering if anyone knows of any possible openings or a site or newspaper to check regularly. Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know how to get a teaching job in Delaware? This seems to be the hardest state to get a teaching job in. I have an M.S. and a B.A. in Elementary Education, an M.S. in Administration and Supervision, and B.A. in History. I have 8 years experience and currently work in a charter school in New York and want to relocate to Delaware. If anyone has any hints or tips or tricks or knows someone who knows someone who is lookig for a teacher it will be greatly appreciated.
Landing a teaching job in Delaware simply boils down to not what you know but whom you know. Cronyism, nepotism, favoritism, etc., come into play. By law, school systems must publish job vacancies via newspapers, periodicals, and online; however, most already know whom they are going to hire despite going through a few token interviews. Several of these schools are not run by competent administrations but by local teachers who dictate policy. Good luck to you all and keep plugging away. Dale Henderson Seaford DE

I am currently studying for a credential in elementary education in CO. I would be very interested in teaching in DE and was wondering what the job market in elementary is like. I would be interested in any part of the state. Please advise on whether I would have a chance or would I be wasting my time considering DE. Thanks, Mr. Chandler.
I would really appreciate your input for a book that my colleague and I are writing for teachers. This book will give teachers ways to help their students become engaged and motivated, as well as practical tools to deal with students difficulties in learning.
