We still need: AK, DE, HI, MN, MT, NE, NM, ND, OR, SC, SD, UT, VT, WV, WY
Our project centers around a stuffed puppy named Ollie! He wants to travel across the country meeting children from each state. We are looking for a participating class from EACH OF THE 50 STATES! (This project combines a traveling buddy and a 50 state postcard exchange)
TO LEARN MORE… [link removed].
Ollie will travel around the country. He will have time to visit each class for ONE DAY ONLY. If he stayed longer, and it took him a week to get to the next state, it would end up taking almost a full year for his journey (remember, there are 50 states and 52 weeks in a year)!! We want to hurry him along on his journey so that he is able to make a full trip around the United States before school lets out for summer (many let out in May).
Each class will send a postcard to the other classes to let them know that Ollie has arrived safely. We can learn more about your area if you also include other information about your state.
Please also send 1-2 paragraphs by email describing what your class did with Ollie. Include digital pictures and/or links to your classroom or school web pages! I will add this to his online travel journal, so all classes can keep track of his travels!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SIGNING UP, please copy and paste the following information into an email and send it to [email removed])
CONTACT INFORMATION: Full Name: "School Name" (ex. Mrs. Stamp): Grade: School Name: School Address: School City, State, and Zip: Work Phone Number (including area code): Email: Classroom or School Web Address: [link removed]:
We are a different postcard exchange than the one posted below. We are a Kindergarten/first grade postcard exchange. We also need Deleware! First one to email me gets it! :) [email removed]
We only need 8 more states: AK, DE, HI, ND, SC, UT, VT, WY

Hi everyone...yet another PA social studies teacher here with 8 years experience who can't get out of her district so I'm looking into other states. I'm hoping that someone can chime in about:
-the state of tenure/unions in DE? -particular areas to go to/stay away from (I always do my own homework, but I'm thinking in terms of cost of living, districts, etc.) -outlook for HS social studies in DE?
I have the certification information from the DDE website.
I hope that more people reply to you, as I'm knew and only just catching on here in DE.
Red Clay, Appoquinimink, and Caesar Rodney are all pretty good schools. I don't think that there are many BAD schools in DE; I would probably stay away from the Dover public schools (especially the HS) because I've heard mostly negative feedback about them. I'm sure you've already searched through this board's archives, but if you didn't, there were some posts back in February that you may wish to view.

As far as the outlook for social studies teachers, I would suggest that you glance at [link removed].
Hi! I am trying to find out if anyone in Delaware is using my music yet, just out of curiousity. I know of 34 out of 50 states that have at least one person that uses HeidiSongs- but not Delaware. Is there anyone from Delaware out there using Sing and Spell or Jumpin' Numbers? Heidi
I am in need of a DE teacher to join my 50 state postcard exchange. I only have a few states left. If you can help me out, please email me at [email removed]

"Gettysburg" was recently screened at the historic N Theatre in downtown Wilmington DE. The proceeds went to charity (The Ronald G. Williams Foundation, scholarship fund in the name of Delaware State Trooper killed in the line of duty; more info at [link removed]).
If you've never seen this 1993 Civil War epic on the big screen, it's a rare treat. It's best viewed on a cinema screen. It stars Tom Berenger, Jeff Daniels and Martin Sheen. Anyway, they would be willing to do another screening if there's enough interest, and ticket sales would again go to the Ronald Williams Foundation.
So if you'd be interested, drop the theater an email telling them so at: [email removed]
We've got some new dates for the screenings. We have decided to run 2 showings per day and have invited area high schools to bring their history students.
Wed. Sept 20th- Gettysburg 9:00am - 1:30pm and 7:00pm 11:30pm w/ 20 min intermission

Hi, My name is Ana Monsivais. I'm interested to apply as a teacher. I speak English and Spanish (native language). Now I'm working as Au Pair taking care of 4 years old kids.
I am very interested in assuming a role as a Charles County Public School employee. I am currently employed with George Washington University. Although I am very pleased with my current position, I must relocate to be near my son. He is approaching his last year at LaPlata High school and needs my support very much.
My undergraduate background is in Healthcare Management and I am a first year graduate student at George Washington University.
Please indicate if I could arrange to meet with the administration to discuss employment opportunities. Please feel free to contact me day or evening at (301)312-8406 or (240) 640-9419. Thank you.
sorry... Delaware... typing too fast. :)
