Hello...I have been teaching for 16 yrs and had a lot of good resources to share so I played around with my own webpage. It's really geared for k-6 teachers. I have centers, Harcourt, word walls, comprehension, assessments etc. Bravenet placed a banner (it's not mine) but the website was free so I'll deal with it for now : ) Anyway it's worth a look. I am not a techie, but I played around with the site and nit has a little of something for everyone. If your interested check it out at" literacynook.com I'd love some feedback since I am very new to this : ) Thanks!
I am starting a new discussion group for teachers. Your thoughts and topics are of importance. If I have not much response I will probably shut the board down so you will make a difference.

I'm coming to a workshop in Philadelphia in June. But, I want to visit Wilmington, DE. Is there some type of public transpotationfrom Philadelphia to Wilmington?
Amtrak is expensive. Take the SEPTA train. (SEPTA=South East Pennsylvania Transit Authority). It's the commuter train. It goes FROM the same Philly station TO the same Wilmington Station. Amtrak does it non-stop. SEPTA takes a lot of stops. I think it will be about 35 minutes.

I teach 5th grade in Florida and I am trying to start a postcard exchange for my class. I am looking for a class that **promises** to participate. It is so fun and any elementary grade can do it. I am accepting the first teacher from each state that emails me. It is super easy and fun!
All you have to do is request that each parent send in 2 stamped postcards that have your state name on it. Then when the due date comes, you have your students write facts about your state's climate, what it is famous for, etc. In return you will also get a postcard from each state. The kids LOVE getting the mail and you can do so much with it.
If interested, please email me at gator.[email removed]!
How much does summer school pay in DE? My parents said my cousin told them she's paying $300 a week for daycare while teaching summer school. If that's true, I don't think it would be worth it to teach summer school. I told my parents that it's probably $300 a MONTH for daycare. I think my cousin lied, because she's trying to get my parents to watch her baby.
So how much does summer school pay in your DE district?

I am a qualified special needs teacher here in the UK.
I am now looking to move to Delaware for a few years and need to find out some information about how to go about finding a teaching position in Delaware that will also provide visa sponsorship (h1b).
I know that I will need to get my UK transcripts converted to the US equivalent and probably need to take the praxis.
Can you please tell me which counties definitely sponsor international teacher and what is the best way to contact them?
I am looking at schools for my doctorate and I was wondering what do people think about Wilmington College? It says you can complete the degree in 3 years. Has anyone got their Ed.d. from there?
I am starting a post card exchange for the 2007-2008 school year. We will start mailing out postcards September 10th and have them all mailed out by April 1st. I will email you a list of participants by August 27th with the addresses.
I want this to be a learning experience for my students. They will experience writing addresses and they will learn the locations and a few facts about each state. You can send pre-made postcards or make them yourself.
Once I get the list of participants (with their school addresses) I will mail one to everyone on the list. Each class would send a postcard to everyone on the list. So, by the end of the exchange, your class would send a postcard to hopefully every state and receive one from every state too! The real purpose is to have a fun way to study each state.
Please keep in mind that if you decide to drop out of the exchange, you need to let me know so the students are not disappointed. I want this to be an awesome experience for our students so, please sign up for our exchange.
Email me your name, address, email address, and state if you would like to join. You can participate from any grade level. [email removed]
Please join!! Here are the states we still need! Delaware Hawaii Idaho Iowa Kansas Louisiana Maine New Mexico Rhode Island South Dakota Utah Vermont Washington West Virginia Wisconsin
Email me if you would like to join! [email removed]
