I'm hoping to start my career as a teacher this coming fall, and was unsure of the order to go about things beforehand.
I've filled out my application with FL DOE and sent my transcripts in. Am I supposed to pay the application fees before I register for the FTCE exams?

It doesn't matter really. You can take the test first or after. I would recommend starting the process though because they get very behind in processing this time of year but your district should be able to hire you if you have the scores from the test center. Also keep a copy on hand of your sealed transcripts for the district.

Took it yesterday - reading topics were difficult. I believe there were 4 passages in total. There were 2 compare/contrast & two longer passages. Try Navaed- they seem to be getting great reviews. I just used their study guide for the GKT & it mirrored the exam - many others have been saying the same for their subject area exams.

I would just do the standard five paragraph essay. Write a thesis statement in your intro paragraph and have 3 ideas (paragraphs) to support the thesis. Write a conclusion. Don't overthink or try to get fancy.

Took it today - topics were the same: strategies for teacher shortages & benefits of health initiatives. I chose the 2 strategies- it's easier to organize.
