Possibly relocating from TX

Hi, my family is thinking about relocating to Florida. However, I teach in Texas and am trying to understand this "Performance based pay" schedule Florida has. It seems a little scary. relocating from Kentucky

I've got family that live in Okeechobee county & have been offered a job to teach there. I've got 21 yrs. experience in KY. Anyone out there know what teaching in this county is like? Elementary level. Central Elementary. Curious about transferring retirement too. KY has a strong union, I hear FL does not. Concerned.....

FL Teacher I would be concerned, too. It is difficult to teach in Florida. I have an excellent principal, so I am lucky in that regard. There is not a lot of respect for teachers in Florida, unfortunately. I have taught here for 12 years, coming originally from Connecticut. Stay away from NC I here that Florida is awful to experienced teachers. I know NC is. I would stay where you are or look west.

CC There is a great Facebook group called teachers bargain basement. I sell and buy a lot of materials there. The group is growing fast and there are no fees or anything like some other sites.

Teachermatch

Osceola County uses Teachermatch for their teacher applicants. I was offered a verbal conditional offer of employment during my interview. The principal told me that everything is done through teachermatch. I keep on waiting for a conformation email but so far: nothing. Has anyone gone through this system? How long does it take to get processed?
