You're not overreacting. The state is hostile toward teachers. You'll be on annual contract from here on out... stay put.
There are some great things here, and wonderful, natural beauty. Just come down for vacation and get your fix then. Full-time living here is brutal, unless your spouse is wealthy.
I've got family that live in Okeechobee county & have been offered a job to teach there. I've got 21 yrs. experience in KY. Anyone out there know what teaching in this county is like? Elementary level. Central Elementary. Curious about transferring retirement too. KY has a strong union, I hear FL does not. Concerned.....

Osceola County uses Teachermatch for their teacher applicants. I was offered a verbal conditional offer of employment during my interview. The principal told me that everything is done through teachermatch. I keep on waiting for a conformation email but so far: nothing. Has anyone gone through this system? How long does it take to get processed?
