I graduated in 1979 and did not have to take Praxis to receive a teaching certificate in Ohio. What Praxis 1 or 2 do I need to take to receive a teaching certificate in Hawaii.
go to the hawaii state board of ed site or a hawaiian university site and e-mail either a board member or university prof in education...they can help you from there.

I will begin my student teaching in january and will begin with a two month theme on Hawaii. I have 25 third graders and am looking for a third grade class in hawaii that my students can send letters to. I really think this will be beneficial in helping them meet state standards on writing here in Indiana as well as correspond and learn about hawaii through children their own age. If anyone is willing to help out with this, please let me know...thanks
I have always wnated to go to Hawaii..I was a teacher in NYC, but health and family issues took a toll. I am sensitive and love history. I am part Puerto Rican and I would love to explore the Island History and that of the PRS who went to Hawaii in 1900.
I would like to know where it would be best for a single woman...I have never lived so far away from family.Perhaps I can find a roommate situation. I am over 40 ( I look and act younger) have been though many traumas and need to feed my spirit before I get too old to make a move. Much Appreciated!

My name is Courtney Wright and I am a graduate of Peabody College of Vanderbilt with secondary certification (7-12) in English. Currently, I am a graduate student at Northwestern University working under the direction of Dr. Michael E. Roloff in the Department of Communication Studies with a concentration in Interaction and Social Influence. For my 2nd year project, Professor Michael E. Roloff and I are conducting a research study entitled, Classroom justice, principled dissent, and tenure status: Instructor reactions to perceived unfairness (IRB Project # 0423-055). The purpose of this research study is to explore instructor perceptions of, and reactions to, justice violations within school policies and procedures.
I am in desperate need of a population to sample and thus I am asking you, my fellow educators, if you would be willing to volunteer for my study and complete a questionnaire (the link is provided below). I am very interested in having your viewpoints included in this study and would greatly appreciate your being willing to spare a little bit of your time (approximately 45 minutes) to help a fellow educator and hardworking graduate student. The Northwestern University Institutional Review Board (IRB) has approved this research study and your participation will be completely confidential.
Please be gracious enough to complete and return the questionnaire [link provided below] via email. Directions to guide you through this technological process are included below. Because this is a “snowball” survey, we (Professor Roloff and myself) would appreciate it if you would forward this email to at least two fellow educators, one with tenure status and one without. We will appreciate any, and all input we receive regarding instructor perceptions of justice violations in school policies and procedures. Thank you in advance for your support!
Feel free to email me at c-[email removed].
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael E. Roloff, Faculty Investigator m-[email removed]

I have heard about a program that places children is certain classrooms according to their learning level. Can someone please tell me what it is called and or how it is used exactly. It sounds very interesting. I have only heard of it being used in Hawaii! Would appreciate any help on this.
I live in Kaneohe and am interested in substitute teaching on Oahu. I don't have any certification but am excellent with children and have a Masters degree.

Hi, I am currently in my first year of the M.Ed SPED program at UH Manoa. I am considering taking a job next semester on an emergency hire basis until I finish my degree but am wondering if it is a bad idea to skip the student teaching part of the degree. I don't plan on moving off the island anytime soon but if I do ever want to teach on the mainland I don't want lack of student teaching to be a problem. Also, I know the shortage of SPED teachers is critical but how plentiful are PRE-K jobs? That is my preference, and I know a position is coming up soon. So my dilemma is, take a job now in my grade preference where I know and like the school or finish my student teaching and hope my grade preference is available? Is there a way to see the list of available jobs if I don't have access to the DOE server? Thanks so much for any help! Natalie
Im looking for a teacher interested in joining a Postcard Exchange with schools from all 50 states. We have several states already participating, but we do need a school from Hawaii. It can be any grade level, incorporating this activity into a lesson for any grade is appropriate. If you are interested please email me with your school address and I will reply with a listing of all the schools participating so far. Thank you! -Liz [email removed]
Hello, my name is Laura and I am currently a senior in college in New Jersey. I am very interested in teaching in Hawaii next year when I graduate, but I have tons of questions. Are there any teachers on here that would be able to give me an idea of what teaching there is like? (Especially if you have moved from another state to Hawaii. ) Any advice you have, I would appreciate!!
