I am a phys ed teacher in Zurich, Switzerland. I would like to do a fully reciprocal teacher exchange in which you swap job and house. My potential partner could teach in English. Working conditions at my school are very good and Zurich is a great place to live (Cosy towns, alps, located in the center of Europe.. etc.) Is anybody interested in this type of exchange? Does anybody know about an organisation, where I could apply for such a project. Thanks a lot for your help.
I am interested in teaching in Hawaii, but I would like to know what kind of living is involved. I realize teachers do not get paid much but I am wondering what the average cost of a condo or apartment is to rent for the year, etc... Also, if you have any internet links or information regarding apt or condo rentals to give me an idea about the cost, please include it. Thanks so much.
I'm hoping to find a first grade class to be short-term email pals. I plan to start the year with a unit on Hawaii and it would be fun to have some real first graders to correspond with. I envision a whole group email situation. Maybe send some pictures of our schools, towns, states, etc. Please email me by clicking my highlighted name above.
I noticed in the previous Sunday's help wanted section that many charter schools are hiring. It looks like one needs to be schooled in Hawaiian or Hawaiian culture to work for most of the charter schools. 2 questions: *How much can a teacher expect to make on average at a charter school? (Please refrain from saying, "it depends" and just give a figure if you know it...thanks.) ** Do charter schools require the same kind of credentials as DOE teachers for its teachers?
