I am curious to know the whereabouts of Cliff. I went to visit him in March 2000. the last time I spoke to him was in 2001; he was struggling with money problems and was in the process of breaking up with his girlfriend. I hope he is all right. Cliff is a great guy. I miss him a lot and hope that he is doing o.k. cliff if you get this message or if anyone knows where cliff is, please e-mail me and let me know. I taught school with Cliff in White Bear Lake, MN from 1998-99.
Miss M’s K-6 Postcard Exchange needs your state. We will sent a postcard to a teacher in each state in October. To join or for more information please email me at TawandaM22
I am a fully credentialed early childhood teacher fron California and am looking for a preschool teacher opening with the school districts in Hawaii. I also have an AA in early childhood development.
How do I go about looking for a job in this field and where do I start?
The first thing you must do is get onto the Hawaii Registry. If you have an AA you should have no problem, but it does take TIME!!! Things are very slow here, especially with the organization that gives these out. What the registry is, is a rating score and a registry for all qualified teachers in the state. Some schools won't even consider you without it. Public schools, those that have preschool are run by private organizations so you would have to find out those things from them. There are a LOT of jobs listed here. I've never had a problem getting a job and have always walked out of an interview with one. You might try going to the local papers here and looking in the classified areas for employment: [link removed]
The Registry is with an organization called Good Beginnings I think their address is: [link removed]
Here you will get info about teaching here in Hawaii. As far as pay goes, I've heard everything from $9.00 an hour to $15.00 an hour for a teacher.
Good luck and if I can help any more, just drop me a note.

Looking for a new job. Anyone know of a preschool job on the windward side? I have a ba and 24 ECE units and am working on the regerstery app now. Thanks for your time
Check the newspaper, there are a LOT of preschool teaching positions.

I have 2 AA Degress from a Comunity College, a BA Degree from a private university, and 60 units of graduate coursework from a Special Education teaching credential program. I was not able to get my student teaching requirements. My employment includes Instructional Aide and Substitute Teaching. Does anyone know of any out-of- state recruitment opportunities for teaching at rural or inner city schools where the requirements might be less demanding? Thank you!

Thank you for the information on RISE and sharing your experiences with me. I will contact the DOE in my state. It is difficult to transfer from one credential program to another, as I have found out recently! Most universities want applicants to begin their program fresh. They rarely admit transfer students. It is good to know that in RISE I would begin teaching or student teaching immediately. Instead of taking 2 years of courses and not being able to graduate. I will see what happens. SMILE!
