Hi, I am interested in moving to Hawaii and teaching high school math. Is it realistic to expect to get hired without certification? Are there any programs equivalent to Fellow Teaching in NYC? Thanks, Mira (BA, MA + 30 credits)

I am doing a project for a class and we are looking at the trend of fundraising in hawaii. I would like to know what some of the teachers experiences have been if fundraising is increasing and what are these monies going towards. thank you
I just came across this site and thought I answer this question. My name is Rick Saunders, former public school teacher for over 10 years, varsity football coach for over 13 years and a Fund Raising business owner of FunDelicious Creations, LLC. (once known as The Hungry Hawaiian). The Hungry Hawaiian was started because of the lack of financial support from the school to do things and projects with my students who were all labeled LD, EH. As a business owner Fund Raising has always been a vital tool for schools and organizations to use to finance their various projects and as long as the financial situation continue to look dim in the public schools more and more fund raising will occur. Hope this helps. God Bless.
A Hui Hou,
Rick Saunders

I am Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) at a primary (elementary) school in Queensland Australia. My job entails running a special education unit within a mainstream school. There are 12 students with disabilities in my unit who access mainstream classes according to their needs. I have a Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma in Special Education, and a Master's Degree in Special Education. What are my chances of finding a job in special education in the USA? I can travel anytime after the 10th December 2004. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Maureen
We are a family of teachers in Sonoma (50 miles north of SF). We would like to have a vacation in Hawaii and wonder if any teacher would like to home exchange in summer of 05.
