I will be relocating to Hawaii within a week's time, and
I'm crossing my fingers that I am able to teach with the
DOE. However, from the posts that I've read so far, I'm a
bit discouraged. How difficult (or easy) is it to get a
teaching position in Hawaii? Through word of mouth, it
seems that there's a shortage of teachers. ???? Would
going through the whole application process now (June) be
advisable? Or do most people wait until after the school
year begins so that tenured teachers have first priority?
Please help!
