I am a secondary education social studies major with an
English minor. I have passed my certification tests for
these subjects in Michigan. I finish my student teaching in
May and begin looking for a job. The Michigan teaching job
market is pretty rough and I was wondering what it is like
in Hawaii for these subjects.

The job market is real good for teachers here,
however...
You can't even live on the salary, because the rentals have
increase so much in the past 2 years. Don't even think about
buying a home here.
I know teachers that come here and leave within nine months.
