sign up with our 50 States Postcard Project! Actually we are a group that emails postcards (ecards). Find your favorite ecard sight online....or.... Create your own ecard.
Test this on yourself: Find an online image of something about your state. Go to File and select: send image. An email page will pop up. Type in the send to information, subject line, and a message that contains information about your state, things students like to do in your state, favorite state foods, etc.. and sentiments that the students have. Send the email (ecard)!
When it arrives, the image will usually appear at the bottom of the email message. The picture image will still be openable as a jpeg or jpg image. Print it out, and there you have it. No postage required, no time lost scrounging around for postage or postcards.
On the other hand, you can also send postcards the old fashioned way (snail mail). Let us know your preference when you sign up. Our postcard exchange needs a participating class from Iowa!
The master mailing list goes out on 9/15 or thereabout, and you have until mid May to send out the postcards or ecards.
Best wishes and hoping to hear from you, Zanada Maleki
I am still looking for several states to participate in a postcard exchange. I have several particiapates already, some even from other countries! HOWEVER, I have no one to represent your state!
Don't miss this great opportunity to teach geography to your students.
All you have to do is send a postcard to the other schools on the list and they all send you one!
When I get mine in, I point the places out on the map, we read the info written on the back, and discuss that state. ( And I teach Science!) Geography skills in America are really low. This is a fun way to get them interested in learning it.

Just send me an email with your school mailing address to trburkartaol.com if you are interested!

I am a teacher currently living in California, however I began my teaching career in Waverly and Shellrock, Iowa. I lived in an apartment above an old laundrey in Shellrock, and I have many fond memories. It's such a quaint little town -- it's almost like stepping back in time. I really enjoyed my time there, and I think it would be a great place to retire. The college, Waterburg, brings in a lot of culture, and I attended some fine concerts while living there. I also met a lot of great people. I don't know if the restaurant, The Brandenburg, is still in Waverly, but I highly recommend it. I lived there for two years -- in 1997 and 1998. Good luck! I'd go back.........
My company is currently looking for someone for a part-time teaching assignment in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I don't know where you live, but if it's in or near Cedar Falls, please forward your resume to [email removed].
Best regards,
Jessica Moffett Training Coordinator
