I am looking for a teacher that use to teach at Willow Middle & High School in Quimby, IA around 1989/1990. Her name is Mrs. Brands. I think she was originally from the Paullina/Primghar area. She left school towards the end of her first year of teaching to have a baby and didn't return the next school year. I would like to contact her so that I can apologize for how I treated her when I was in the 9th Grade. If anyone knows her, please get a hold of her and have her email me at [email removed].
We still need a representative from your state. Please email me if you would like to participate in sending and receiving approximately 50 postcards from around the United States and a few other countries. We will be sending out the cards starting in September and finishing up before Thanksgiving. Take a look at the website I created to display last years cards for ideas of what to write on the back. It is a great opportunity to see the world without leaving your classroom. I look forward to hearing from you.
The following states are still needed to complete our Postcard Exchange: AL, AK, CO, CT, DE, DC, IA, KS, KY, ME, MD, MN, MT, NV, NH, ND, OR, RI, SC, SD, WV, WY
If you are interested, please e-mail me your school address. We would love to have you. To find out more about the Postcard Exchange, read on.
I teach 5th grade and find that a postcard exchange ties in well as a geography review, as well as writing--the format of a postcard.
If you choose to join, your job will be to send each participant a postcard. Usually I have my class create one postcard and then photocopy and glue it on individual postcards. In the letter we include information about our state and our school.
Then when we receive the various cards from other states we display them on a bulletin board. I put a U.S. map on the wall and everytime I receive a card we put a pin in that city/state and attach the postcard.
My students love receiving the postcards. They have an opportunity to learn little things about states and schools.
At the end of the summer I will be e-mailing all of the participants a list of addresses that will be involved in the exchange. Usually we have about 30 states, I would love to get all 50 states, but I haven't had that happen yet. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you are interested so I can add your state to our list.
Hi, I am Miss M, a 5th grade teacher, from MS. Your state is needed for a K-6 postcard exchange. We'll only be accepting one address from each state. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for sending a postcard representing your state to all of the 49 states on the list. I will send you a list of all teachers participating in September. The list will close on September 30 or as soon as we have all 50 states. Help me spread the word! We will mail out postcards the month of October. IF you are interested please email me at [email removed].
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa but am now living in N.C. I'm organizing a postcard exchange and need your help! I need a K-6 teacher from IA to sign up!
Here's how our exchange works: You are responsible for obtaining, writing and mailing 49 postcards (one to each state). The postcards should have info about your state, your classroom, etc. Please mail your postcards towards the end of September/early October. I will mail out the address list when it's completed (hopefully soon!).
If you'd like to join and your state is listed above, please give me:
Your name Your email address Grade Level School Name School Address
Miss M’s K-6 Postcard Exchange needs your state. We will sent a postcard to a teacher in each state in October. To join or for more information please email me at TawandaM22
An experienced postcard exchange need you to participate in our K-6 postcard exchange. We are dedicated to giving our students a positive contact with other states and countries. We are targeting being ready by the last of September or early October. It has been a great sucess in past years. If interested please email me at [email removed]!
The person who is part of the postcard exchange was definately not posting the request to selfish people such as yourselves. If you don't want to do it ignore the post. I am a part of a postcard exchange and we got every state but yours and another. Iowa just must be full of teachers that aren't interested in trying new and exciting ways to teach students geography. Continue being selfish.
On 8/22/04, Grown people will do as they please wrote:
