I am a Special Education teacher for students with moderate to severe disabilities in California. We are contemplating a move to Idaho. The Idaho nomenclature differs from California: here my classes are defined as SDC-SH (Special Day Class-Severe Handicaps) or M/S (Moderate to Severe). What are classes for the severely handicapped called in Idaho schools? I have looked on the Idaho teachers' site but the jobs are only listed as Special Education.

I moved here to teach spec ed from the east. Not much support from districts and communities, high caseloads, etc. I would look for a state that at least has caseload maximums.

Another teacher and I are starting a new postcard exchange. We are currently looking for all states except California and Missouri. If you are interested please email me. Thank you!
We really would love to have ID in our postcard exchange. It's fun and educational too!!!! You can even share the project with a co-worker. Email me for details.
I am still looking for several states to participate in a postcard exchange. I have several particiapates already, some even from other countries! HOWEVER, I have no one to represent your state!
Don't miss this great opportunity to teach geography to your students.
All you have to do is send a postcard to the other schools on the list and they all send you one!
When I get mine in, I point the places out on the map, we read the info written on the back, and discuss that state. ( And I teach Science!) Geography skills in America are really low. This is a fun way to get them interested in learning it.
