We need a teacher from Idaho to join our postcard exchange. If you are interested, please email me. I need your school address and an email. I'll email you the list as soon as it is complete. Thanks, Monica
I am considering relocating to Idaho after I complete my B.A in Elementary Education in Colorado. Would I be able to find a job or would it be difficult?
Some areas of Idaho are growing rapidly, others are quite stagnent. I teach in central Idaho, where the logging and mining economies were major factors. With the demise of both, our county is really struggling.
The western side of the state - Boise, Meridian, and many points in that direction seem to be growing, but I am only going on what I hear from other teachers who are on that side of the state. I have no really hard facts to support it.
You may be able to find out more by contacting the university placement offices. I believe, the Idaho Department of Education's website lists job opportunities too. Just Google the department of ed and search through their site.
Good luck!

We are a different postcard exchange than the one posted below. We are a Kindergarten/first grade postcard exchange. We also need Idaho! First one to email me gets it! :) [email removed]
Hello, I have opened up a few states on my second year exchange. Due to the fact that I am starting back school soon, I am looking for serious teachers ready to participate 100%. I am limited on my time for preparing the documents you will need. If you are truly interested in an exchange please let me know. I will need your school information and you may email me that directly at [email removed]!
Just returned from the 4th Annual Idaho Math Academy at the U of I in Moscow. It was an extraordinary week, and I left with a better understanding of Algebra and how to make it connect for kids.
We were given loads of resources, treated like the professionals we are, and the sessions were top notch.
If you've never been to one of the academies, I highly recommend it! If, for some reason, you don't receive information at the local level, check the Dept of Ed website under Math.
If you are an elementary teacher who would like to participate in a postcard exchange, email me your school address and your grade level. You would need to send out postcards from your state and in exchange your class would receive postcards from other states. It is great fun for students to learn about "snail mail" and to learn about our country. I hope you can join us! Eileen

Once I have all 50 states plus Wash. D.C. filled, I will send out an email with a list of the participating teachers and ways to incorporate this exchange into your curriculum. Also, I will snail mail FREE LABELS to make your life easier. Please contact me now if you would like to join. I need one teacher from each state listed above. By October 1st each participating teacher will need to send a postcard to each participating teacher. Thanks for your help. Contact me if you have questions. :)
Teacher L- Thanks for the info. I just put in a application to Meridian Schools. I am teaching in Tennessee right now, but I thought I'd put it in in case something came up during the year. I'd hate to leave in the middle of the year, but I need/want to get back to Idaho, so if something comes up, I'm outta here! If not, then I'm one step ahead of the game for next year.....
About Boise State-- My undergraduate work was at Eastern WA U in reading, and I have a Master's degree in Education (just plain ed., nothing fancy, big mistake!), but when I move back I plan to return to school for Administration. Do you know anything about BSU's post graduate administraion progam? How about the doctorate program? And this is an off topic question, but is it hard to get tickets to football games at BSU?!
Thanks for all the information posted so far. It has really been helpful to me.
