As part of a graduate research project, I need to gather data from current teachers. I’m researching the use of technology in the classroom and what factors affect it. If you could just take a few minutes to complete my survey, I’d appreciate it. The survey is online and has 15 questions.
For all of you that posted the study guide information and the your experience with the test; I can't thank you enough. I am going to take the test on June 14th and I am rather scared of it...but here in Vegas to pass you need a 150. So I don't know how hard it is going to be to pass it.
Can anyone give advice on how to pass the Art Making Praxis? It's all essay. What exactly are they looking for, especially the part about your own artwork?
Don't forget Bloom's Taxonomy, and before you write the essay, create a short outline... a quick list of what you are going to write about.... This is my suggestion

I don't know what level of detail they're looking for & I've read the materials they give.
Any advice from someone who's taken the test would be appreciated. The hardest part is that 75% of the test is talking about your own work. You'd think that would be easy...but this is the part everyone I know keeps failing.
Well here we go - crunch time - I love using this as a study guide - the Artlex site is awesome too. I am still having a hard time finding some info Leonardo's Lords supper - where was it painted\where is it hanging? Cant find anything on the grand jettyA "tool" that attaches metal together isnt solder is it... that would be the medium? Is "toxic" on a bottle of rubber cement? In the kinetic art questions does it show pictures of pieces or do you need to know the pieces listed? Still dot have a confirmation on the specific female artist that uses words in her work? - Seems like there is several answers???? Appreciate any help - is anyone else super nervous - been a long time since Ive taken an art history test.... Cheers and ALoha - Cworthy
Last supper - The setting of this masterpiece may give you your best clue, for it is hanging on the wall of the refectory in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. from [link removed]
the Grand Jetty is Nature art, rocks, water, assembled to form a design, etc. They gave us a diagram of a sketch of it, and asked what stage of the process was this.
Did not get a question about kinetic, but it would be good to recognize it more than memorize an image. There were very few questions on who painted what... more observation and relationship "how do you know the two figures have a relationship?" or "What do you see in this image that tells you it is unique to ______"
There was very little art history on my test ... process and teaching art questions... my test was in NM.

You can't use CRUs until you have a Masters. You must take undergrad or grad credit hours only. Check the requirements at the Indiana Licensing Board.
Portage (Indiana) Schools looking for 2 high school Spanish teachers. City is located just of I-94 near Lake Michigan, and very close to Chicago as well. They are having a hard time filling these positions due to teacher shortages in foreign language in Indiana.

I am a 23 year Spanish teacher veteran looking for new employment. I am maxed out on the scale, but well worth the cost. Serious inquiries only, please.
I want to take some renewal credits this summer for Elementary Ed. They have to be real undergrad or grad credits - not CEUs. I am under rule 46-47. I live up north in Grant County. I am also looking for low cost - since I am a sub and don't have tons of money to spend on coursework. Lots of classes are just too expensive for me - since I have such a low salary. Thank you.
Check out classes Ball State offers online. If you happen to get a contract, they may take your credits you work on this summer towards a master's at a later time.

We have just adjusted our block 8 schedule to a hybrid block 8 were (in our h.s.) Monday is purple - every class meets 1-8 for 45 minute classes and then Tues/ Thurs. is "red day" classes and Wednesday/Friday are "blue day" classes. So in two weeks I'll see every class 6 times instead of 5 times. I'll have a prep twice on Monday (45 minutes each) and once every day the rest of the week (80 minutes). What do you use?
We just finished a stint with 4 block scheduling. In the fall we are changing to Block 8 in the fall. I am not sure if I will like it or not. I love the way you have a hybrid of it. It sounds great! I am a special education teacher so I am petrified of my students and how confused they will be with Purple day (1-4) and Gold day (5-8) rotating through the entire year. YIKES! I like how your weeks will be the same each week. That makes so much more sense to me!!

I don't know the terms of what we have since it was adopted before I got hired in, but we have a rotating color day schedule, block 1-4 one day and 5-8 the others. Classes change (most of them, very few year long classes in our building) at semester for the kids. A homeroom/resource/study period exists on either block 3 or 7, (underclassmen on block 3, and upperclassmen on block 7). Lunches occur during those blocks too, whether in class or in homeroom. We have about 2,000 students in our 9-12 building.
I thought I would never like the block, but its not bad. If I had my choice though, I'd go back to traditional schedule. I was on a 9 period day for years, and really miss seeing the kids every day. I just don't feel like I know my kids on the block, about the time I get to know them, they leave at semester. I also question retention of the material, its seems like I remind and review a lot more than I ever did on the traditional schedule.
