I'm from MI, can't get an elementary job jere unless you know someone or get down and dirty with someone. We have hundreds and hundreds of apps for one position. How is it in Indiana? I need to go somewhere where I can support myself.
I'd be curious to know where you teach? Which county? Which school?

I doubt this person is going to say where they work exactly, that wouldn't be a good idea on a public board, I work in the panhandle as well and find the working conditions to be "not the greatest", as well as the pay and health insurance, compared to our neighboring states. But we are a neglected part of the state, unfortunatley! At least the teachers are dedicated!

Yes, there is a special ed shortage everywhere including Indiana. If he got a job in IN in a non-shortage area, I would say Wow, too!!!

Does anyone out there teach ICP in high school? If so, I am interested to hear about any ways you have really integrated chemistry and physics in the course.
I am a third grade teacher at a parochial school. I asked my former third grade teacher if she knew how much time we needed to devote to each subject in the classroom according to the state. She didn't know. Does anyone know how much time should be alloted for each subject and where I can find this info at? Is it online?
1. know about gustave courbet's "stone breakers" 2. compare a huang binhong landscape painting and another (unidentified artist) painting discussing similarities and differences including depth of space. 3. know about the vietnam memorials. what was controversial?
1. compare caravaggio's madonna...and gentileshi's maidservant... 2. about cultural relativism, does art have relevance outside of the culture that created it? 3. know faith ringgold's Tar Beach...culture, symbolism, etc.
If anyone knows what is on the 3rd test please share. I am about to take this test for the FOURTH time! I thought for sure I passed the last time so I missed the next test date. I was too confident! My best advice is to watch the clock and write as fast as you can. I am a terrible test taker and the time constraints on this test kill me.
Check out corporations in the surrounding areas, as there is probably not much in Monroe County. It's an easy drive to Spencer, Martinsville, Bedford, or Brown County. Bloomington is a lovely town; I'm sure if you decide to come that you will love it. Best wishes...
I am trying to move to indiana from michigan and want to know how I can get my certification to transfer over? Is it an easy process? Is it better to look for teaching jobs in indianapolis or in the suburbs?
Basically you just do the paperwork. Check the Indiana Professional Standards Board, send in your paperwork and cashier's check and if it all works, you get your license later.
I job hunted in the Indy area about 4 years ago and it was TOUGH. Lots of interest in the Indy area. So hard to get hired, I ended up in Northwest Indiana almost to Chicago.
