Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

I am currently at student at IUSB. I am thinking about changing my major from Psychology to Secondary Ed. I was told by some one that there are no jobs to be had. Does anyone here know the outlook for teachers in Northern Indiana? I live in Elkhart. Thanks for any information!
Don't do it Jobs are few and far between, I have been looking in South Bend area for 5 years. Currently driving 90 minutes to NW Indiana to teach. If you want to stay in Elkhart or St Joe County, get in line. Bethel, IUSB, Goshen are all cranking out grads. And Michigan education majors coming to Indiana as they can't find jobs up there.

rch Susan is correct about science and math teachers being in greater demand than other areas. An idea if I may...with the psych as a major, you may want to check out school counseling, or psychometry...these positions may be more open than teaching psych/social studies, and even our elem schools now have full time counselors...our district has tons of...See More
