My class will be reading the story the Gingerbread Man and doing a project with it. I am asking if anyone would mind assisting with this... if you would like to please email me at [email removed].
Project letter: My name is the Gingerbread Man, my friend in CLass 2H was reading a story about me and i jumped out of the storybook to visit you. My friend at school is wondering where I have run to. Please help them by sending them a picture postcard showing them the area where you live. This postcard will be posted on a large map of the world outside of my classroom. This will help the children by showing them how different parts of the world look. I know my friends will enjoy hearing from you and learning where I have run! Thank you for your help! Got to go! The Gingerbread Man

I am moving to the Fort Knox area in about a week or so. I have already filled out paperwork and received a license to be a subsititute teacher in Kentucky. I was just wondering what you have to do to become enrolled in the schools to substitute. Is there a general phone number to call to get registered or do you have to enroll with each school separately? If anyone has any information, that would be great!! Thanks!!

Found a fantastic new chapter-book series for ages 7-9 that the kids in my class are thrilled about. It's called the Incredible Journey Books and it has fast-paced worldly adventures filled with geography facts. The plots are interesting and the series has done the trick to get my third-grade class interested in exploring the world map. The books have a great site that has an Africa unit along with puzzles to go with each book. Go to [link removed].
The books characters have relatives from Kentucky, and the author grew up in Kentucky.
New scholarships are now available for summer and year long programs to Turkey. See website [link removed].
There are changes also in several AFS summer programs. Please, call 1-800-AFS-INFO and ask for the 2008 AFS Sending Catalog free and ask which programs have changes and what these changes are.
Applications need to be made for summer and fall programs NOW. They may be made online at [link removed].
I just have attended a Michigan job fair and spoke to several representatives from Kentucky. Of course they each make their district sound the best, if its not higher pay its cheaper cost of living, or better benefits. I am looking into the Louisville area especially, anyone from there? Its hard to make a decision on which to pursue, i am just looking for some insight into what districts you all believe to be the best for a starting out teacher moving in from Michigan. I am a secondary Geography major with minors in Earth/Space Science and Biology. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I am a transplanted teacher to Kentucky. I was just given a pink slip after 4 years because the new basketball coach can only teach P.E and those positions were taken so my principal decided he could teach Arts and Humanities and Drama. Although all my observations were excellent/ certified, and I have 15 years teaching experience If you want job security in in the teaching profssion in Kentucky make sure you coach.
