1. As student achievement and a greater understanding of curriculum have become more relevant, what are some ways you have found to apply curriculum to previous knowledge? 2. Technology seems to be the way in which education is steering itself. Some believe that technology can lead the way and eventually produce better schools, while others believe that there may be long-term consequences that are not being considered in the rush to use technology. What are your thoughts on this issue? 3. NCLB states that the equitable distribution clause requires states to take steps to “ensure that poor and minority children are not taught at higher rates as other children by inexperienced, unqualified, or out-of-field teachers.” What are you beliefs on this subject and why? 4. How do you view the NCLB act? What is your opinion on the matter? 5. In your years of experience do you feel that your teaching philosophy has helped or harmed your classroom? Have you had to change it? 6. How do you talk to a parent who may not agree with you as a teacher? 7. What steps do you take in the classroom to implement NCLB while obtaining Higher Order Thinking levels for those students? 8. How does your overall school mission coincide with your classroom philosophy that addresses a safe learning environment? 9. How do the styles/ methods you use today differ from those that you used when you first begin teaching, what brought about the change? 10. In your opinion what should the desired outcome (socially, economically, and politically) of the teacher be when teaching students?

I have an opening for a Pre-K teacher for the next school year. We are in a brand new building, 8 Pre-k classes. We are universal serving the entire parish at one site. If anyone knows of a certified Pre-k teacher in or around North La, Caldwell Parish actually, have them email me so that we might can set up a meeting.
I'm considering moving to, and teaching in Louisiana. I would like to know if it is hard to get a teching job in St. Tammy Parish and St. Charles Parish? I may start out as a Sub. Teach and then move into a teaching position...
Kimmie-Is Jefferson Parish very competitive to get into? I just recently moved here and am currently at a Charter school in NO and I am having the same reaction as you did! Also, are there very many schools that have pre- kindergarten? I am certified in PK-3rd but am currently teaching my 7th year of pre-k. Thanks for any help you can offer!
Bucket-Which school do you teach at in Tammany and out of curiosity would any of the temporary positions happen to be in PK-3rd? As I mentioned above I am currently at a charter school in NO and it is not a good fit for me. If you could reply or email me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Trying to find someone I could connect with to share ideas for 5th grade. This is my first year to teach the grade and would benefit from any and all thoughts and ideas. Especially for Social Studies & Science. Thanks in advance!!
8th Grade TeacherHow do you like the 4 day week? What is your average class length? Do you feel like the kids aren't "getting" everything they need? Honestly it shounds nice but I'm just wondering about the academic impact? My kids are worn out by 2:30 and teaching that last clas is hard enough. I just worry if we were hear longer.

I have just published my first children's book, and using my talents as a Reading Specialist have developed interdisciplinary activities, as well as before, during, and after reading activities for the classroom. There are vocabulary activities and opportunities for your students to write to me about the book and its characters. I am glad to respond to those letters at your request. A physical disability permits me from teaching in the classroom anymore, so I am reaching out to students this way. The main goal of this book is also the part of my job I miss the most: instilling a love of reading and learning in each student. I can visit your classroom by Skype, if you wish, and our website is about to go online. There, you will be able to access the acitivities I spoke of earlier. The obok is called Harley Hits a Homer, and I am so pleased with the positive way it is being received in the classrooms where it is being used. I'd love to hear from you if you think we could work together on this project. I'd love to hear from your classes and to interact with them. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Let's keep them reading, Tena
I believe that the Statute 43?? refers only to retired teachers returning to full time positions while drawing down their retirement benefits. It eliminated the so called "double dipping." Look at this website. It will probably answer your questions. [link removed]
Sure you are Rich. Let me guess that you are willing to pay very handsomely for the private teaching of your "to" daughters. So Handsomely that you could enroll them in the royal family's boarding school in the UK for the price. But you have to send me a check over the amount and I need to cash it and then wire you the extra money back, right?
