Dana A I think it might be worth pursuing. You seem to still have the energy/desire, and teachers are always needed. I understand about the age. My husband has been trying to find a job and has run into difficulty, likely because he's 58. He hasn't applied for a teaching position, though, so maybe school systems aren't as picky about the age. New teacher job fair

I am moving to Louisiana from another state that does things quite differently when it comes to the whole applying/interviewing/hiring process. I just got an invite to the Jefferson Parish job fair for new teachers. I'm really not sure what to expect. Anyone willing to enlighten me? It would be greatly appreciated.

I'm Sped HQ (Georgia certification), experienced middle school, and WOULD PREFER a position in an elementary school setting. Also, am certified in Early Childhood.

How good/bad is it in Louisiana? Any suggestions, experiences to share? Thanks.
