I have a student that is very smart, but also very conscious of his grades. His 8th grade score(leap test) was a 374 that was only 28 points from advances, but his GEE score in English was a 352, still mastery but it was 40 something points away from advanced, he is very concerned, are the GEE test and LEAP 21 test graded differently because he feels like his is getting "Dumber"(thats his way of putting it).

I currently hold certification in pre-school, nursery, and elementary education from NJ and LA. I have my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Supervision, and 28 years of classroom teaching experience. What parrishes are currently looking for pre-k or kindergarten teachers OR curriculum specialists? Thank you for any information you can share.

Check out Oakdale Elementary in Oakdale (Allen Parish). They will be needing several teachers, to include kindergarten. We have 7 kindergarten units at our school and last I heard, they were in need of 3 kindergarten teachers. I believe they may have found one by now. There are also other openings, no doubt.
I do not teach in PC, but it is close by. They are initiating a Pre-K for all students in all schools starting next school year. So, they will have many, many openings.
I have been teaching 5th grade language arts and social studies. At our school, language and reading are taught by two different teachers. I had found a chart separating reading and language GLEs so that both teachers would know what they were responsible for teaching. I can not remember where I found that chart. I will be teachng 4th grade reading this year. Does anyone know if there is a chart such as that for 4th grade language and reading where the GLEs are separated? Thanks! :)

I know a lot of schools are doing away with the DRA and are basically throwing them out. IF you have a DRA kit they your school is going to get rid of or not even using and your principal says its okay to dispose of it please contact me. I would like to use it on my students. I can be contacted at [email removed]
Teachers, Fancy an exchange visit but don't want to be shackled by local government conditions and requirements? I'm keen to exchange with a DC teacher during our respective school holidays for an opportunity to experience British Culture , with or without the opportunity to visit English Schools. I(48 year old married male) am willing to offer a bed in the family home in Derbyshire, England and accompanied(if required) excursions to many sites of cultural significance. In return I would like to visit the Louisiana area, I have previously stayed in Virginia and Minneapolis, visited New York and holidayed at Disneyland FLA. If interested, contact me at [email removed]

If you have any luck, give me some pointers. I'm looking as well.
First, they are very very selective. Some really fine people do not get accepted, so have a backup plan.
The application process begins in the fall, with maybe a late March deadline. This deadline is not flexible. If you make the first cut with your resume and answering the questions they give you, the next step is an interview event.
I got up to that stage before deciding to do the LRCE program in Baton Rouge, which is not selective. If you qualify, you are in.
More differences: TeachNOLA pays you. Other programs, you pay them. And of course, you are obligated to teach in New Orleans. I needed more flexibility (I live two hours away).
I teach ELA and MA in a multigrade classroom. (3rd, 4th & 5th) Has anyone aligned the GLE's or CC for these particular grades or does anyone know where I can get this info? Thanks for your help!
