For the 2009-2010 school year; all of New Orleans-RSD schools will turn into charter schools, should be very interesting!

Currently, 56% of public school students in New Orleans attend charter schools and about 50% of our public schools are chartered. In 2009-2010, we expect to see an increase in the number of charters and a decrease in the number of traditional schools, but the entire district will not consist of charter schools. Baffled I applied to TEACH-NOLA as a master or certified teacher with an extensive background in the field of ESL (BA English, MA in TESOL, Bilingual, national and international experience, certified in two states, etc.) However, I was rejected for an interview. I am truly baffled.

dont be confused oh don't be baffled.... I too was declined for a spot in the TeachNola cohort. ONLY to be offered a spot as a selector( a year later).. which assisted in the selection process for the very same Teach NOLA.. go figure! If you are certified in 2 different states, I am sure that your certs will transfer to Louisiana...
