Wondering if I'm crazy or just desperate or whatever. Have taught in LA 4 semesters but the last 3 years I've subbed at one school I really liked. While this was going on my certificate (k-6) lapsed. I originally got the certificate from Alabama and had to change it for Louisiana. Ala. didn't require the Praxis but of course LA does. So now I'm thinking i should get recertified and get an add on . Problem is my work history is not great and i am trying to finish the Praxis . I have 2 parts left to do. The other thing is my age . I'm 55 so I don't know. Maybe i'm crazy but I'd like to get a regular job with some parish . Tired of the sub deal. And vocational rehab will pay for any courses or tests. Just wondering if this is really worth it to pursue . I'm in Tangipahoa Parish but would move if I had to.

Need some advice. Thanks.
Dana A I think it might be worth pursuing. You seem to still have the energy/desire, and teachers are always needed. I understand about the age. My husband has been trying to find a job and has run into difficulty, likely because he's 58. He hasn't applied for a teaching position, though, so maybe school systems aren't as picky about the age. Just curious...See More
