My name is Breana Dacy and I'm a former teacher and a graduate student at the University of Texas and I study ways that schools support teachers. I am hoping that you will be willing to respond to a survey about your experiences as a teacher so that we can better understand how these experiences' contribute to teacher happiness and well-being.
Also, you'd be helping me graduate!
The link is below if you are interested, and thank you for your time, as a former teacher I know how valuable it is!
I'm 3 classes away from completing my MEd program at Salem State Univ, with focus being in special education. I had concidered moving out west, but due to family constraints, will remain in MA. How are job prospects for SPED teachers in MA? Thanks
Jarod HMNo. All the teachers that I know in your situation had to take General Curriculum to get the Moderate Disabilities license. The MA DESE website specifically requires the General Curriculum exam.
To give you guidance on what to look for, here are the Boston College classes (I chose it because I went there) that would fulfill the requirements.
ed 438 Instruction of Students with Special Needs and of Diverse Learners ed 520 Teaching Mathematics and Technology ed 542 Teaching Reading ed 543 Teaching Language Arts
Feel free to email me and I could find out of there are programs in your area
I am going for my SPED license and as of 2009, the DOE has done away with taking the Gen. Curriculum test. NOW they require the passing of a CONTENT area test!!!!!
I'm looking for a prep course on the Math MTEL-K-6 or a tutor. I haven't taken the test as yet, but haven't had a math course since freshman year of college.
My name is Chris Abraham and I am experienced teacher and MTEL, MCAS, and SAT math tutor. I provide one-on-one math instruction to graduate students and teachers preparing to take the New General Curriculum math sub-test 03 and MTELs 47, 51, 53, & 09. I also provide private and small group classes for the MTEL math exams and offer a 1 DAY General Curr. MTEL Math Review in Harvard Square.
The next 1 Day General Curr. Math Workshop in Harvard Square is May 7th, 2011.
Seating is limited. To reserve your spot in this workshop go to [link removed].
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
