Looking for an MTEL tutor to assist with the essay portion of the general literacy. I've already passed the reading comp portion of the MTEL so I'm 1/2 way there. Its been a while since I've done essays. I'm located in Foxboro. Thanks
I am an elementary teacher in Maine and have ten years of teaching experience. As soon as I sell my house I want to move to Massachusetts. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions or advice on getting an interview/job there? Thank you.:)

Look on SchoolSpring. Also, there's a culture in many Mass. towns where outsiders are not welcome, therefore, you need to get someone who is known to the principal (i.e., such as a teacher at the said school, the principal's neighbor, etc.) to recommend you to the principal. I've applied to 100s of jobs on SchoolSpring over the years but every job I was offered (2010 and 2013) necessitated the above type of contacts to get an interview.
I'm taking the Early Childhood test in two weeks. I'm already licensed in Moderate Disabilities and have been teaching for 11 years. It's been over 11 years since I graduated college and passed the other MTELs. How difficult did any of you find this test (Early Childhood) in comparison to Foundations of Reading or any of the others? Does this test have a higher pass rate? I keep hearing how difficult it is for some people to pass other MTEL tests but not much is online about the Early Childhood. Just curious what you all think. Any suggestions for studying, or info regarding open response questions would be appreciated.
Greetings, I'm scheduled to take the MTEL Math 09 test on May 11th, 2013. I was wondering if there's anyone else in the Boston area who's also preparing for that test. My math background is very good because I studied engineering in college. I'd like someone to do some studying with a couple of times prior to the test. Thanks, Jose
Has anyone taken the foundations of reading test on the computer yet? I was just wondering if they gave you practice paper or paper to write notes before you type up the essay? And also anyone remember the essay questions? Wonder if its the same as the paper test?
Do you know if there is a summer course available to prepare for the September ESL MTEL? I am trying to pass that test!
Thanks

Would love to hear what you know, even if it didn't work.
Thanks,

I think it would really dep...See MoreDoes it have to be Boston? A woman I dated for a time came from Argentina and was sponsored by the school district in Las Vegas. She worked there for a few years, got a green card, and then relocated to Boston. She spoke Spanish, so that was how she got in there. Would you be willing to move to another US city?
I think it would really depend on what he can teach. What would he be certified to teach in Mass? If he could speak Spanish or special ed, he might have a shot in Boston. STEM subjects might also have some demand. If we're talking elementary or English, then I don't think it is going to happen. There are plenty of locals who can't get a job teaching in those subjects and no immigration visas are required there.
