I am just hoping that if i post this then i will hear that people have been able to transition from a private school job to a public school job without subbing or being an aide in a public school. Please don't tell me if you think it is very hard (i already know). Please don't tell me if you or many other people got into the public schools by subbing or as aide (i already know). I don't have many people to talk to about this so i'm asking:

Have you or someone you know been able to go from private school teaching to public school teaching (elementary, I am lower elementary)? Tell me it's possible. Someone tell me that public schools do not look negatively on private school experience.

oldteach 20 years ago, I moved from private to public. I was chosen over several applicants who had just graduated and they didn't seem to worry about where I got my teaching exerience. DBI I've visited, studied, attended or observed over 70 schools in the US and now teach in a private setting, and in my considered opinion, I cannot imagine returning to most public schools.
