Unemployment

I just signed up for a long term sub position in MA for the remainder of the year. Does anyone know if I will be able to collect unemployment over the summer if I do not find another job? Again, this is in the state of MA.

Jarod HM I do not provide this as a definitive answer, but from my look at the MA DUA website, I don't see why you couldn't, especially if your contract specifies your end date as before the beginning of the summer. The only criteria you seems to need is that "you must have earned at least $3,500 during a period of time specified by law and at least 30 time...See More

Career Changer I have not been in your situation, I'm only reporting what I heard while completing my student teaching in a MA public school district. (I was hired as an aide and completed a full year practicum to get my certifications. I was unemployed for the summer but found a job for the following fall.)
