Does anyone know why Phillips that new Martinsburg High School principal was let go from Washington County a few years ago? I believe she was at Clear Spring High.
I am graduating in May and I am applying to the PG Teaching Fellows for the 2009-10 school yr and I know it is predominately urban area, I grew up in the DC metro area, so I know the demographic. I just wanted to hear from those who are already working in this school system.

I heard rumors that due to the economy many school districts are doing budget cuts and cutting back on teaching positions. Is this true? I am receiving my Md this spring and I hope to move to the Eastern shore area this summer. Does anyone know of any elementary job positions?

so hel# bent on inserting such a ginormous amount of PORK into this stimulus package?!?!? She and Reid need to get a clue as to what our country needs. TRIM THE FAT and make it work. We don't need millions of $'s going to such BS programs!! We are going to go belly up just like Japan! Is that what we want?!?! I'm am so tired of the the Dems. taking...See Moreso hel# bent on inserting such a ginormous amount of PORK into this stimulus package?!?!? She and Reid need to get a clue as to what our country needs. TRIM THE FAT and make it work. We don't need millions of $'s going to such BS programs!! We are going to go belly up just like Japan! Is that what we want?!?! I'm am so tired of the the Dems. taking MY money and spreading MY wealth to those who sit on their ass#s and do nothing all day! Why does our liberal govt. feel that we need to continue to entitle this trash of our society?!? GET A JOB.......NOW!!!!!! I understand there are a very SMALL percentage of those on welfare and who collect food stamps that truly need it. The VAST majority acctually COULD work, but don't because they get free money. Would YOU work if you could smoke cigs and drink Budweiser on a daily basis? The worst part is, they continue to produce offspring. This just leads to a vicious cycle. I say women should only be allowed to have one child until they are off welfare. If they can't get a job in a year, fix them like a cat so they can't have any more. This would help the poor children that don't get the money that is intended for them because momma spent it on cigs, booze and dope. Am I being mean here?? No. I'm just stating the facts and the truth that our liberal government and media refuse to address. Welfare was NOT meant as a means to give free money to lazy ass@d people on a lifetime basis. It was meant to serve as a bridge to help those who BECAME unemployed until they were able to get back on their feet again. This process was meant to be and used to be a brief period of time so they wouldn't jeopardize our economy. Now look at what has happend to this program!! Complete and utter abuse! The worst part is, our government ALLOWS it!! My blood pressure is boiling. I need to go!!
Well, How do you feel about bailing out the banks and the insurance giant AIG? They take the Government bailout money and go on junkets. They give huge bonuses to the CEOs and upper level management who ran the firms into the ground. Isn't that just welfare for another segment of the soceity?
What's the pork you're referring to in the stimulus? Modernizing schools & government buildings to make them energy efficient? Fixing crumbling bridges & roads?
I did hear about extending unemployment benefits for those who are looking for work and can't find a job? Do you have a problem with unemployment benefits, too? Or you just don't believe the rising unemployment numbers are true?
This is a country founded on the principles of liberty and justice for all. Do you really think taking away someone's reproductive rights based on their economic status fits into that creed?
Take a look at the budget - There may be some welfare abuse, but it's not what's bringing the economy down.
Did you miss the information about the housing bubble that burst from too many subprime loans that were issued by banks without proper back-up resources to people who couldn't afford to pay their ballooning adjustable rate mortages?
Did you hear anything about funding two wars over the last six years?
Did you know that the 3 top automakers in this country have come to Capitol Hill with their hats in their hands asking for money?
Have you heard of a guy named Bernie Maddoff who bilked thousands of investors out of billions of dollars?
George Bush came into office with a budget surplus. He left office with the budget & the economy in shambles & NOW the Republicans want to get fiscally responsible? WOW! What brought them to their sense?
