So your saying that if you break your contract for life threating issues to leave a county in maryland...you will never get the chance to teach again??
Professionalism is neededYou need to read your contract and be more forthcoming with your principal than you were in your post. If you have health issues, there is mostly likely a clause in your contract that covers this. If you are leaving for other reasons, you need to let your principal know. Be professional.
My name is Makeyda Hilliard and I am an undergraduate student of psychology at St. Mary's College of Maryland. I am completing my senior project on practicing teachers' knowledge of students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder via an online survey and would greatly appreciate your valuable insight. The completion of this survey should take no more than 15-20 minutes.

I don't know where in the county the poster teaches but this is not my experience working in the county. I have tons of support. A mentor was assigned for my first two years, I have great admins, my subject supervisor and his/her curriculum people have been a great assest and the SAS in the building has been great as well.
I am from MD (born and raised in MoCo) and graduated from Towson a few years ago. I know what Baltimore is like, but could I handle teaching early childhood education there?

Also, what are the chances that I will get hired from Howard? I am certified for literacy and special ed, but would really really prefer a gen ed. job. Are the chances slim to none? Thanks so much. I appreciate it in advance!

I will be attending a job fair for PG I was wondering how the set up is, do you go from Table to table. I am a School Counselor relocating to the area do to my wifes new job. I am certified and currently working at a middle school, I filled out a online application and I have all my information in the system just want a heads up.
ersuant to the previous poster's question, I am wondering about the status of raises in Pring George's County. Will the currently posted salary tables stick for next school year too? Has anyone heard anything?
Another question--how do you know which union to join? It seems like they have like 4!
