Hi, I have never been there before. What is the job outlook for high school English teachers? Also, input about Crofton, Annapolis, Denton, in GENERAL, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, how hard or easy is it to become certified in MD if I am already certified here in Arizona?

    Thanks much, AZ

Just Me.. I find these chatboards very negative. Most of the responses for a few of the states I have looked into have advised posters looking for jobs, that there r none. I know that there are freezes in some states but not in all categories. Maryland, as far as I know has NO freezes. Many of the counties aren't hiring as many teachers but they are hiring. ...See More

Does anyone know the difference between the PG County Resident Teacher program and the Teaching Fellows program in PG County? I am looking to get into teaching and I found both of these programs but I don't see a large difference between them. Does anyone know if one is easier to get into? or if it's different types of schools your teaching in? Any...See More

    L Hi Pat,

If you are considering doing the coursework through PG Community College then you will want to schedule a meeting with Dr. Terry Bridger. She is the head of the Education Department and is very nice and helpful. Before her was Dr. Basili and she was also extremely helpful. You will also want to go to the Maryland State Department o...See More

I am a current high school math teacher. I have a curriculum interview scheduled next month for the Howard County Public Schools. Does anyone know what this interview involves? Are they testing my knowledge of the curriculum, or my teaching style? I am just not sure what to expect and would like to be prepared. Thank you for your input.

ABTeach I went to the fair last year and I had a Curriculum interview. They don't ask you about their curriculum. They ask about your background and what you would do in different situations. You should be fine. >>> On 1/11/10, EagerToTeach wrote: >>>> I am a current high school math teacher. I have a >>>> curriculum interv...See More

Does anyone know of any middle or HS openings that are about to happen at MCPS?
Is it possible to contact people at schools directly about possible teaching position openings?
