Hi, I have never been there before. What is the job outlook for high school English teachers? Also, input about Crofton, Annapolis, Denton, in GENERAL, would be greatly appreciated.
Also, how hard or easy is it to become certified in MD if I am already certified here in Arizona?

I plan on attending the PGCPS teachers' job fair on Dec. 5th. Seeking an ESL position. I would please like to hear, pro and con, what you think of PGCPS. Thank you very much. I look forward to your honest postings.
I work for PGCPS currently, since January of this past year. I was fresh out of college and seeking employment. I signed a contract for 2 1/2 years, which is longer than a typical contract for a first year teacher.
After teaching here, I wish that I would have researched my decision more. There is currently a "hiring freeze" or so the inside employees are told. Our union notified us at the beginning of the school year that there will be no raises for the teachers and they are possibly going to furlow some of our days.
I'm giving you the facts. You can still apply to the county... but just make sure you research your decisions, thoroughly.

If you are considering doing the coursework through PG Community College then you will want to schedule a meeting with Dr. Terry Bridger. She is the head of the Education Department and is very nice and helpful. Before her was Dr. Basili and she was also extremely helpful. You will also want to go to the Maryland State Department of Education website: [link removed]).
Let me know if you need more info! Always happy to help.

I am a current high school math teacher. I have a curriculum interview scheduled next month for the Howard County Public Schools. Does anyone know what this interview involves? Are they testing my knowledge of the curriculum, or my teaching style? I am just not sure what to expect and would like to be prepared. Thank you for your input.
very, very soon but don't give up b/c it is a large drawn out process
you have an interview with a central office person first, probably someone from sped... they put you on a list of approved people for the prins to interview....then as prins find out they have openings they interview BUT until a certain date that ?I can't recall and I am thinking that it is 6/15, people in the county get the chance to interview and move around, after that date they can then offer to outside the county people, BUT central office can prehire youwhich means that you have a position they just dont know where, i know there is a recruitment day coming up soon, look on the website..
